Identity/Visibility: Telling Stories, Telling Truth
Thursday, November 12, 2009
There are three main ways to volunteer for the HRC National Dinner, the single largest fundraising event for HRC.
First, you can become part of a National Dinner sub-committee and work to achieve sales and donations goals for Program Book, Silent Auction, Raffle Tickets, Table Captains and Local Corporate sponsorship.
Others of you may volunteer on the night of the Dinner on October 10 to help with the back-channel imperatives of such a major event.
Yet there's a third option that might be a great way for folks to be a part of volunteering without the longer-term commitment of serving on a sub-committee and not having to wait til night-of to volunteer. If you're not already part of a sub-committee and prefer to volunteer for discrete events instead, here are dates for upcoming events where we need volunteers.
Come to one of the events below and volunteer for a short shift. We'll train you on-the-spot how to sell raffle tickets, how to solicit table captains, and how to speak about the National Dinner. It's a great way to mingle and volunteer at the same time.
Please review the event dates below and let us know if you can join us and volunteer for one or more. RSVP to hrcnationaldinner2009@gmail.com.
Tuesday Aug 11 Dinner Committee meeting at HRC building Phone Banking
Sat Aug 15 Street Walking Days - Get Silent Auction donations and Program Book ads door to door
Thursday, Aug 20 Table Captain Celebration at The Madison Hotel
Thursday, Aug 27 HRC Monthly Happy Hour at Halo
Friday Aug 28 - Pool Party - Capitol Skyline Hotel (TBC)
Thursday, Sept 10 Homo Hotel Happy Hour at The Madison Hotel
Sub-committee volunteers, night-of volunteers all contribute, but there also is a valuable role for volunteers at particular HRC events in service to the National Dinner.
Come join us and be a part!
